Kurt Spurgin has a bachelor degree from UC Santa Barbara and a doctorate from one of the top chiropractic programs in the country, Southern California University of Health Sciences, where he graduated summa cum laude and class salutatorian. Dr. Spurgin has extensive training in physiology, orthopedic diagnosis, clinical neuroscience, biochemistry, functional anatomy, biomechanics, and pathology. He has also taken industrial disability courses and has several years of experience performing industrial pre-placement physical examinations. Dr. Spurgin also has eleven years of hands-on clinical experience performing physical examinations, functional rehabilitation, manipulative techniques, and physiological therapeutics.
Dr. Spurgin takes great care to keep abreast of current research, adhere to appropriate treatment plans, and treat all his patients with care and attention. He has clinical experience in treating referred pain syndromes, chronic and acute pain, headaches, brachial neuralgia, sciatica, peripheral nerve injuries, fibromyalgia, and complex regional pain syndromes. Dr. Spurgin is currently working on research at UC Riverside leading to PhD in Neuroscience. He hopes that this work will enhance his clinical insight while opening new avenues for him in research and education.
